Customer-Driven Solutions vs. Standard Systems

by Mark Lovett on June 30, 2010

If you’ve visited the Trenton website recently, you may have noticed new product headings on some of our rackmount computer pages – Customer-Driven Solutions and Standard Systems.  The 2U rackmount computer page is a good example, and while these titles may be new, the philosophy is not.

For over 30 years Trenton has designed and manufactured cutting-edge single board computers and backplanes based on the latest generation of industry standard technology and Intel processors.  Year after year Trenton has introduced ‘standard’ products to address the critical needs of industrial and embedded computing applications across a diverse range of industries.

But Trenton has always been a customer-driven company.   From adding enhanced functionality to a single board computer, designing a unique slot configuration on a backplane, or customizing the BIOS, Trenton’s engineering expertise has always been focused on satisfying the needs of our customers.

So why should anything change with the introduction of fully integrated rackmount computer systems?

When you see the Standard Systems heading, it denotes a pre-certified configuration.  These systems have been built, tested and qualified to work in a wide variety of applications, from government and defense to video processing, industrial automation, communications, medical and virtualization.  As a result, we can offer expedited delivery while providing Trenton’s world-class customer support.

Systems under the Customer-Driven Solutions heading are just that, system configurations initially designed to meet the requirements of a customer application, but now featured on the website due to their ability to satisfy the needs of any industry which demands high-performance computing solutions.

Customer-Driven Options Include:

  • Processor, memory or drive upgrades
  • Additional SBC features & functionality
  • Customization of system BIOS
  • Rackmount enclosure modifications
  • Unique PCI or PCIe slot requirements
  • Multi-segmented backplanes
  • CE or UL certification testing

Whatever your computing needs, rely on the company that remains focused on designing and building high-performance solutions for our customer’s most demanding applications.

Our expertise extends to market segments such as Government & Defense, Virtualization, Video Processing, Industrial Automation, Medical, Energy, Communications and Test & Measurement.
